with weldin cast dont you have to heat it up, weld it, and then slowly cool it back down?

and can you weld mield steel to cast?

and one other Question, what sort of boost can a stock ea motor, and can you get away with a stock ECU.

hi

sorry about the slow response to updating this thread

just finished the differential housing and doing the second one as we speak

diff centre has been stripped and sent away for acid batheing , all the diff center bearings have been ordered and axle bearing kits also

will post a few more pics

still waiting for my new Tig weld to arrive from a importer

just bought today a old 3 phase 300amp miller tig welder

unit works great

watch out now , can complete the plenums in several different styles and see what happens and the AIR/CON intercooler will be happening now

will prices sheet alloy tommorow

miller tig welder has arrived by road frieght

bought a second old unit a Miller Dialarc HF CY50 machine rated at 10 amps upto 310amps AC/DC with water cooled touch and amp rate foot controller

she is a big machine compared todays machine will have to do me for now a late model machine is between $5000 to $10000 Australian dollars new

lets get some practice now with the machine LOL

anyone wanna a plenum for the XD to XF and EA to AU LOL ;)

Well first on the agender is a plenum with twin throttle measuring 66mm in diameter connected to a aircondition style intercooler which will be switched on by 3D WOLF veriosn-4-plus ECU when a pre-set inlet air temperature is reached at high load situations

will post a few pics once i start fabricating

f**k hell just been reading this thread your working your a** of on this project im loving it heaps of fabrication going on.
Thinking of going back to the idea of turboin my AU2 on straight gas again :lol:.

this guys rocks, he's old school.
way way back, way before my time, this kind of activity was common.
Now, most people cant even conceptualise let alone undertake work of this type.
the rice boys like to paint their wipers, dump the car on its guts and ...
well, what do they actually do?
i just hope he drives this thing on the road, like, all the time.
i reckon falcons deserve this kind of treatment.

i agree though, its a good project so far, alot different to the normal... rims, cam, t5 and exhaust setup. not saying theres anythin wrong with that, just good to see something different every now and then. And fabrication is so cool :) just wish i had the facilities and skills to do it!

nuffing wrong straight to the point LOL

ok just dummied up a plenum cut out of cardboard checking for clearances

the large front section has to house two ZK fiarlane 66mm throttle bodies , haven't yet made any contouring features as i just wanna get a rough idea what things might look like

Priced aluminum wooooooooo its expensive
a 1200 by 2400 by 6mm thick grade 5005 is $350+gst plus delivery 8mm thick is even dearer by about another $200

have several designs in mind so a full sheet should do quite a few plenums and not to mention the odd customer or too

that is a nice piece of work u have done on the couch , LOL wish i was back at school again ;) u just gave me a idea with a ZK fiarlaine i have here that im wrecking mite give it a go i know the Zk is no where near as good as a XP raer

i considered going into business making them but would cost me about $20 000 to start off and the government will only give you 10 000. a zk will be awsome. i considered making one out of a zk a while back. i have been offered $2500 for the seat
