G'day back again with yet another problem with the falcon, how surprising... not. Anyway there appears to be a misfire at idle and with minimal to no load, with full load she sounds nice and goes good. I can't see why it'd misfire with good leads, good new coil, ( 2nd hand dizzy, new rotor / cap - red flag ) good new spark plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, new fuel pump ( 2 sets of injectors do the same thing ) new inlet gasket, new aux shaft ( can't see it being mechanical as some times it's crystal smooth ) Tried ECU reset 2 times and the list goes on.
Not to mention fuel economy is doghouse s**t. Anyway here's a video for more in depth details of the misfire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBVHu0rO ... e=youtu.be

Tried a known good 02 sensor and no luck.

What's the best method of reset. I've seen multiple such as:
(N with loads off N with loads on Drive with Loads on Drive with Loads off ) *2 minutes Also (N with aircon off N with aircon on Drive with aircon off Drive with aircon on) *2minutes Is there really much of a difference?

i think he means resetting by unpluging one lead from the battery

Yes, after letting the car sit for 30 minutes or so with the leads off and then doing those things... that's what i was referring to.

well that did jack s**t, tried looking for sparklead arcs, couldn't see any in the pitch black besides a little glow / interference down under the inlet manifold ( not ontop of the distributor ). Will attempt some more diagnosis tomorrow.

Tried changing TPS ( with reset ) no different, disconnected temp sensor and map sensor, no difference. So i decided to go and change the sparkplug leads to some good ones i had laying about and still, no difference...
Beer time.

Tried changing over the isc with a spare i had, still no good, i forgot to add, this problem only started after having to jump start the car with a portable jumpstarter, that probably opens a whole new can of worms.

I've discovered something a little bit concerning, the TPS black and orange wire are giving me a constant 4.95v. No change whatsoever if i were to touch the throttle. Wouldn't this tell the computer to be delivering fuel as if it were at WOT? Or will the inlet manifold pressures combat this?
Also this TPS is good, along with the other one. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

should have 0.7v +or- .2v between the green and black wires with the ignition on closed throttle. you might have a signal ground issue. i would unplug the manifold harness and test the ground between the plug and sensor, then from plug (other half) to ECU.

mk, i was testing the wrong wire ( from memory i thought it was the friggen orange wire ) and testing 0.8v - 4v so i may need to adjust the tps to get around 0.7 v for closed throttle.
As far as the misfire goes i can only put it down to the distributor... Might swap it out for the new ebay dizzy i had ( I'll be changing the gear over, learned from that mistake )

Changed over the dizzy, misfire is still there ( running rich as hell ) My only guess is that the jumpstart has buggered the ECU.
