Forgot to mention you will have the drain the tank on a wagon to do the fuel pump, or you can run it low, or slowly remove the pump out of the car to drain it. I've had to do it a few times on commodores so be careful.


But the safest way is to syphon the tank.

When you go to replace your fuel pump if it is a sedan,make sure you replace the rubber "O" ring because the old one wont give you a good seal.You can buy the "O" ring from ford for a couple of dollars.Also once you have replaced the fuel pump and are ready to tighten up the plastic nut,smear a bit of rubber grease or vasoline on top of the white fuel pump housing.You do this because it creates a lubricated surface for the top of the inner plastic nut to slide along instead of locking up with the fuel pump housing housing and spinning the fuel line pipes.Just lubricating the inner top of the nut will prevent the turning of the fuel pump so you can line up the fuel lines.
Make sure you use the proper tool to remove and install the plastic nut,to reduce the damaging process.Also there might be a big hose clamp on the outer side of the plastic nut,do not remove it.Just position the star shaped tool on the nut and go for it.Hope it helps.
