Hey guys, i have a 92 eb fairmont that im starting to throw a bit of cash at. Atm i've got my air intake sorted, a 2 1/2" cat back exhaust, shift kit and im getting extractors when i can find some.
Im just wondering, is it worth doing up my eb engine with 220, xxx k's on it, orrr should i buy an el engine and do a swap over?? i cant afford an engine atm, but im looking to have a quick 6cyl and i dont wanna throw a heap of cash at my eb engine when it may be worth while in the long run having an el one. Is there alot of difference in the engines?? thanks! |

el xr6 engines are cheap nowa days so if you can find a low km one grab that and throw it in once the eb one is dead, easy swap over.
or you can do an AU engine swap little big more involved but would be worth it. do a search mate there is a tonne of info on here about it |

Yeah i've done a search and i have worked out an el is gonna have a bit more torque, but i would really like to know what sort of power people have gotten out of their eb's, and how reliable it is compared to an el one.

Cheapest thing to look at, in my opinion, would be putting a lumpy cam into it. Should only cost bit over $100.
