hi i have a eb on duel fuel and the other day my fuel pump shat its self i brought a new one just wondering how hard are they to fit is it a job i should atempt and home in my shed or should i get a mechenic to do it trouble as i live in a small town and the local mechenis has told me if i dont do the job right eb fords tanks have a habit of collapsing in is he full if it

full of it. its not like its a soft cell plastic tank, its hard plastic. if it collapsed in when you replaced the pump, there are other more chronic issues going on.
there are a few instructionals on here as to how to do it yourself. its a piece of piss actually. Use the search.

have fun changing it over the clamp around the top of the pump is a C*** to get off
i had to replace the one in my sisters eb not that long ago youll see what i mean when you take the cover off in the boot but other then that they are piss easy to do

true but not everyone has the right tools its just a normal hose clamp just really big
and the floor gets in the way to get to the nut

what about the plastc ring? i know the ef has it, and i couldnt get mine off without either breaking it or getting the tool with the 3 prongs, came off straight away with that, i have also gotten them off with a bit of wood and a hammer but you can damage it if its never been off and you dont have the right tool,ive done 3 ef fuel pumps so ive got the hang of it, hope i dont have to do it ever again tho

You can use 2 medium pry bars or large screwdrivs and x them over them selves. Usually works.
Does the big clamp surve any pourpose? Make sure you mark the rail and return lines and put them on right way otherwise it won't run. |
