Just wondering if the Gear changes in the 4speed are ment to be as roughf as one of my mates new car (ED Ghia Wagon)

When it snaps into second third or fourth you can here a thump which sounds like its coming from the Diff?

this normal or is his diff on the way out? cheers

I was sitting in the back and it just really sounded like the diff was 1 seccond behind the gear changes, like it just changed normally then it would get to the diff and suddenly thump into gear
