i have no idea what the bottom end is like unless i pull it apart, the compression results wer as followed, cyl 1=172psi cyl 2=170psi cyl 3=171psi cyl 4= 170psi cyl 5=172psi cyl 6=170psi. it seems to be all within service specs, so i dont see a compression problem it was tested both hot and cold. and did not see a great change in the results.

Id be double checking all the repairs you're 4 mechanics have done, they may have accidentally fitted a slightly wrong part or repaire incorrectly.
I'd be looking at the intake manifold gaskets been installed properly and that it's not a CPI gasket, same with the distributer and checking the coil casing hasn't cracked

I asked that before, either he didn't read it or is guilty so to speak.
It is common practice to replace with 2nd hand parts if the mechanic is unsure.

i never use 2nd hand parts unless i have no choice but to use them all parts i have replaced have been new parts. as for incorrect manifold gasket the car is a tbi and it's never been replaced and checked it for leaks and there are none, i have also lost all automatic gear changes i now need to change gears manually, am going to convert to a manual box and replace the head with a slightly worked multipoint head and run a multi point setup plus ill be useing and aftermarket ecu which was brought for another car i no longer have, hopefully the problem can be sorted with the mods if not i know there will be one big bomb fire.

dude there not carby...

they are centre point injected or also known throttle body injection..
completely different to a carby.
the basics are the same as multi point injection except the injectors are in the top of the throttle body instead of in each port..

Yea i realized what I wrote after I lOgged off haha, too many beers.

I reckon you should replace the inlet manifold gasket, bet you it's got a crack in it, thought you said you had replaced everything.
Being a falcon it's common as.
How do you know it's not leaking?

it's an s1 eb s2 didnt have tbi, tpa was replaced the day i got the car because it kept throwing a fault code and was full of water when i removed it, as for knowing the manifold gasket isnt leaking i ran it up to running temp and used a squirty bottle full of brake cleaner and went around the the manifold and vaccume lines there was no sudden rise or drop in rpm, also retired the same thing when car was cold.

have you gone back and double checked your fuel.
i had a very similar problim with my nf v8 lane.
backfired both hot and cold, idled fine but if reved it spitted and carried on.
turned out to be a faulty fuel filter which was brand new was sucking air in at high revs.
