Hi All,
I just did an AU conversion on my ED track car. It turns out the car is now slower than with the ED donk and 977b cam. I did a compression test and it seems to be burnt exhaust valves. I got my hands on a good EB tickford head and I'm about to fit it to the AU block and use the 977b cam. I found a link on another website warning about EL hybrid engines and parts not being backwards compatible. I knew that AU cams could not be fitted to E series due to differences in rocker gear but not sure what else Will my EB head and rocker gear work with the AU timing chain and bottom end? (I'll be fitting a rollmaster vernier as well) I'm planning to do the job without removing the timing cover so won't see the timing marks at the bottom Hoping it's not against forum policy here is the link: http://autofix.com.au/blog/el-falcon-hybrid-engine-camshaft-timing I hope I sort of make sense. Sorry for the Frenglish... |

The head can be used on the AU Block. You need to use the ED rockers and Cam, that is all.
I have an EF had on an AU Block, no issues. Same thing in the Wagon. |
