It'll be ok for a straight swap into an EB2, you won't have a dipstick/filler tube though.
Make sure you remove the torque converter and place it on the shaft in the new gearbox before you offer it up to the engine. If you leave the torque converter bolted to the flexplate you can't align them properly and will probably kill the transmission in a hundred metres or so. Paul

What is involved in fitting a dipstick/filler tube?

What is involved in fitting a dipstick/filler tube? i think the boss for the dipstick is still there, but it's plugged up with metal and needs a thread tapped into it from the INSIDE. then the dipstick just bolts up and bobs your uncle.

I'll check my spare EB2 g/box in the morning but ATM I don't recall a thread being required for the filler tube but of course the hole must be drilled with the pan off to keep it clean inside.
Cheers, Paul

No worries Alfy, I think it just attaches to a box bolt with a bracket on the EB2, so basically only the big hole required. I'll still recheck though as I plan to do this with a 117k EL box I have for our EB2 Fairmont, when I fit the matching EL engine in a couple of weeks.
Cheers, Paul
