I'm just about to change the waterpump on a Mate's EB. What's the trick to getting the fan off so that I actually have some space to work?

Cant get to the front of the fan coz the shroud's in the way, can't get the shroud off coz the fan's in the way.. :?

if its a viscous fan the same as the XF's you can undo it with a large spanner just behing the fan, it has to be undone clock wise.

Also leave the fan belts on while doing this as you need it to be tight.
