OK, adding just a Tickford head, will not make any noticeable power difference on its own.
Remember that the Tickford engines had 9kw difference over the standard engine, and the changes included, the head (bigger valves, and slightly higher compression) the cam and valve springs, the fuel pressure reg, the ECU and free flowing exhaust. If you need to change your head or head gasket, and have a ticky head available, certainly put the ticky head back on, but I wouldn't be spending all the dosh needed for a head swap looking for a leap in performance by just bolting on the tickford head. As part of a long term build up strategy, it makes sense to use the tickford parts, and with improvements in intake, exhaust, ECU and the other usual things you can get a good seat of the pants improvement. Cheers BenJ
