Iv got an eb 4.0 that wont start, am a mechenic but cant find problem, coil is good distributer is new, fuses and fusable links are ok all sensors are ok. Im getting very weak orange spark, the plug on back of coil is ment to be battery voltage with ignition on im only getting 11.3 volts and the number 5 wire on distributer should be around 11 volts im getting nothing, im guessing my ecu is cactus opened it up smells ok can't see any burn marks on circit board, its an XR6 manual so cant just rip an ecu out of a car at the wreakers. Has anybody had similar problem they have fixed? Any help would be good

ps, the interior light fuse is not blown

TFI Fried? Battery rooted? they will not help if they are issues. Have you tried the battery?

hi, welcome to fordmods

u say the dizzy is new, did u replace it because u thought that was the problem?
the tfi on the dizzy can fail because the coil is crook and on the way out
so when u replaced the dizzy the coil still had the same problem maybe.
do u have another good or new coil u can try?

ive heard from a few places its best to replace coil and dizzy at the same time, so one wont cause the other to fail, just a thought...

Have checked all your grounding points? Sounds like one of them may be up the creek
