like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 4575467982 i know its ended, but they'd probably have more stock so, are the plastic/brass ones as good as the plastic/aluminium ones? |

yeah would like to know - i think that's where all of my water (i say water cause the coolant disappeared 3000k's ago!) is going!

As far as I know ADRAD are imported.
IMO plastic/brass would be better then plastic/aluminium as brass doesn't corrode.

i wouldnt use a brass one simply coz it doesnt corrode, same reason as why your not supposed to use all brass welsh plugs. if the brass doesnt corrode then it will just eat a way at the alluminium head. i dot know about you guys but id rather replace a $200 radiator compared to a head

So your suggesting to use your radiator as a sacrificial annode. whats wrong with using corrosion inhibitor? and replace nothing.

made a mistake in my last post, all my other cars have been copper cores, not brass
also looking further, ebay have aluminim, copper and brass cores it seems interesting read voxace, i can see the advantages of aluminium, but it only if its maintained well, if it isn't, copper'd be the way to go i think, i've never had to replace a copper radiator in the past and never had overheating problems either |

this is the galvanic table, it tells you which metals corrode fastest, lowest number is fastest
many grades of aluminium, highest number is 26, which i'm sure they don't make radiators out of copper starts at 33 brass starts at 46 so, i'd say radiator aluminium alloy'd be a low number, you can see why it corrodes so fast the table is in sea water http://www.eaa1000.av.org/technicl/corr ... lvanic.htm obviously the worst scenario tho i have used roadside puddle water once to get me out of the s**t |

There are corrosion inhibitors on the market that do the job excellently and then there are just green liquids branded as corrosion inhibitors. all im saying is that id rather my radiator s**t its self as opposed to the head.

Even so there is no garrantee that the radiator will suffer first instead of the head, could work the other way. The best solution is to ensure that quality inhibitors are used and the engine coolant is periodically checked for any stray currents (electrolysis). Anyway after reading what voxace posted up I'll stick with a ally one.
