hi everyone.
Iam looking at buying a fg xr6 ute in the next few months. I'm pretty set on getting the lpi ute. just wondering if many people have had any problems with them as they are fairly new tech? im aware that ford carried out quite abit of testing but that's only so good. so just wanting to hear peoples experiences wether they be good or bad. Thanks heaps look forward to hearing from you. |

They have had these injected gas units for a while as far as IN know and haven't heard anything bad about them other than what non lpg users always carry on about

Haven't heard anything bad about it except that for a sedan, you lose a lot of boot space if you go for a full size spare tyre. It pretty much takes up half of the boot! Seeing as you are going for a ute variety, I don't think you'll have that issue (I think).
To be honest, if I had money, I'd grab an EcoLPI myself, over the petrol/I4T. The premium of buying LPI will definitely pay itself off in the first year or so (depending on how many km you do in a year). In saying all that, I am not sure how much it would cost when it comes to service time. It might be more expensive or some other extras that need checking, don't quote me though, someone else might know what is involved in servicing an EcoLPI engine.

Thanks heaps for the info. what little reviews there are say the same sorts of things that you lose the boot if you option a full spare due to the gas tank sitting in the wheel well. on the ford website without looking deeper into it they've capped there service price at $360 but it can come in cheaper. they are 95 dollars dearer to service then the petrol 6 going by this tool.
http://www.ford.com.au/ownership/myfordowners/cappedprice if any one owns one id be curious to know what sort of kays to expect per tank in the real world? |
