Why would you need another ECU if you're getting a unichip?
And if it's not an XR8, it's not exactly going to do much putting an XR8 EEC in there.
If it's a six, it just won't work.
And if it's the lower spec 5litre, the maps will be all up the s**t.

I'm still not following.
But either way, theres no real need for a chip with those mods.
What car is this?
Series I AU what?

forte - so you dont think the unichip is needed?? - i got told it bring 5-10% more power and is better used when fitting those mods - but i'll trust ur judgement they are expensive the chips

Think about a unichip if you decide to get a much larger cam, or something drastic like that.

If your only just beginning to modify your car unless your getting some fairly decent work done such as CAM, turbo or big work done on the motor the unichip/ecu change isnt gonna bring you much benifit and isnt worth the $$$ money would be better spent else where if your just starting out.

hi

im under the impression CAPA flash tuner now can do AU's

unchip has its limitations

better spend a bit more and tailor a tune to suit ur cars mods , better buy a software that can do the tuning to ur ECU and not to mention its ur software and hardware to keep where unichip ur stuck to there licenceing and u dont get the software so u have to always go back to them to make some sort of adjustment which is just foiling ur ECU's incoming signals from the sensors , a very crude method of tuning

my thoughts only , have fun , so better a flash tuning software

cheers

I was told by one engine tuner that 1/2 of the cars of the production line runs rich more then it should. if you get one with fuel/air ratio running just on the border line then there's no point unichipping it cause you can not advance it unless you install bigger injectors. mind you, this is with cars with mild mods eg: extractors/exhaust, intakes & cam.

pretty expensive for an extra 5 to 10 kws I'll say.

do all you mods first then the chip last.

Have you consider "chiptorque" $590
