nup. au has different timing cover and some other stuff. so the sump wont match up properly.
best bet is to just grind the fins off the front of the au sump

in my case grinding the fins off the front of the sump it still JUST touched the k-frame.
Easy solution once the engine was in the bay and I discovered this (and not wanting to bend the k-frame with a hammer like some for fear of putting the front suspension geometry out of whack) was to move part forward, cutting the front 1/2 way thru, welding on some more RHS with a large amount of overlap, then cutting away the stock bar from behind so the geometry never changed in the process. |

i believe you can but as far as i know you need to use the ea timing case cover and the rear main cap has to be machined..
someone please correct me if im wrong.. i think it would be easier to just mod the k frame or grind the alloy sump.. |

hey mate, was there anything else you needed to mod/change for the engine to fit?
assuming it fits with the sump ground down... what is the custom rod/braket for that youve taken a photo of? it almost seems too simple lol

so its still just a "suspected" aux shaft issue...
woulda thought if it fails it fails bigtime...ie no shaft turnie so no dizzy turnie no engine run...rather than just create a miss

how come you didnt go with the serpentine belt setup?, when i can be bothered about having aircon again im going to get the ED lines grafted to the AU compressor lines.

actually i did in the end..i ended up using ef serpentine. at the time i had just had the aircon fixed and a new alternator so i used the ea belt set up and manifold... and i couldent use the au manifold or air con pump due to too many differences.. remember that this thread is over 2 years old now lol |
