i got a ed fairmont, was driving along and it stalled, it sounded like the trans making a little banging noises as well when it happened. i put new spark plugs in it, changed coil. smartlock flashes with no key, when key is on the smartlock light goes out after afew seconds. it turns over but wont start. i don't think its got any spark i checked alittle before. battery flat now. tried jump starting but still not starting. any ideas anyone?? cheers

Sounds like you are just lacking Fuel. Check that you can hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to the "on" position, before trying to start the car. If not, its dead.

Had the same thing happen to me and it was the TFI modual on the dizzy
