Replace pump if its sus. Shouldn't need to clean lines, just replace filter. If you still feel have to, compressed air.
If you're only getting weak orange spark, coil lead or coil dead.

You really can't "clean" your fuel pump, they are a sealed unit. You can pull the pump out and check the pre filter (sock) but if you have a pump issue, replace it. Fuel filter is located under the car rear left door. Replace that.

I could be wrong but tfi tells it when to fire, then it's up to the coil to provide the juice. Not enough juice would point to coil or coil lead. That's my interpretation of it anyways.

Looking at the coil lead will probably show you nothing. Test it or try a new one.

would that have made it cut out while running?

Try one of your plug leads on the coil. If you get good spark you've found the problem.
My money is on the coil though.

Yeah, you can check the resistance if you have a multi meter handy.
If you do a quick search on here you should be able to find the values. I can't remember.

take dist.. cap off and spray inside with WD40 or similar, check rotor and carbon brush while your there ...spark should be strong blue ...check TFI mounting screws are tight ...TFI also supplies earth circuit to fire coil, spray inside coil tower and connection in case of moisture and lift leads from dist..one at a time and spray inside and replace.....
TFI and Coil still possible fault ? coil doesn't have to be mounted for testing ... are injectors working ? smartlock light working correct ?? check battery voltage when cranking - at least 9 volts or better... spray WD40 in inlet dont over do it ! and see if it runs if so chase fuel problem ....
