Yeah man, she cranked over first go and sounded nice and lumpy..
But it had little oil pressure.. and long story short, was trying to sell it, and am now wrecking it as I get time. There's a list in the for sale section. Will update it with pics and prices as I get a chance. |

well, did you see the pics of the rockers in another thread a month or so back? Good chance somecrap that ventured down an oil gallery is blocking that guaze, but there's also low comp on cyl 3 which was the one that hammered the stuck and the busted valves.
The car was just an experiment on trying all the mods you wanted to do to your first car, and I got to do it with no bs until the rocker smash. The car handled so well, the 312km donk really copped a hammering at the skidpan days, it was the only car to link every corner for drift, lol, I still find it funny all the n00bs in the VZ's and skyrines had the kw, but no handling or skillful drivers Rock on. |

Hey guys,
With the engine at TDC, the cam gear has 2 marks, one is a line like what you guys have but that is at about 2oclock, the other is a dot that lines up with the right side of the head.. Wtf?

By memory the "_" mark at 2o'clock is the one you wanna line up.

Was a while ago, but the "_" may sit just above the flat surface of the head. It won't be right on 3.

Dont forget to buy head bolts and use 14mm impact socket not a 9/16 otherwise you will bugger the bolts up.

Mate I would be removing the timing cover which means the alt bracket will have to be removed.Better to be safe.What you have done is what I did to an ef falcon.Make sure you remove every bit of s**t you can find and check the pots as well for water.

Make sure you remove all gunk from engine.Even remove the timing cover and check the pots.I know all about it I have done a head gasket on an ef and when you put the bolts back on use a single hex impact socket 14mm make sure no play and I think for mem it was 45 and then 90 degrees.

Hi, i have a 93 ed fairmont 4L. its definatly got a blown head gasket. its steaming more than my boiling kettle haha. so im ready to start pulling the head off to put a new gasket in, but should i replace it with a stock gasket, or a different model like an AU gasket? im not too sure of this. i have teh repair manual and ive pulled motors apart before, did my mates tritons head and all of that.
so just wondering what the best one is to use? thanks guys

so if i buy an au head gasket kit. the rocker cover seal and head bolts are all the same as an ed?

helppppp! where the hell does the small slider for the timing chain go! i know there two big oens either side but where the f*ck does the little one go? when i took the cover off it fell into the sump and i fished it out.. hellllllllllllllllllpppp
