Ok some background on my car:
-4.0l straight 6 -Manual conversion -4499 paceys with 2.5" exhaust -EL head with ported valves -log manifold My ed coughs/splutters around 2000rpm when accelerating slowly, and after 2000rpm it is much more powerful and loud. under heavy acceleration it doesnt cough and splutter, but it feels weak in low revs and is noticebly much more powerful after 2000 rpm does anyone know what the problem could be? |

Possibly cam timing.

First place I'd be checking over is the ignition system. Check your plugs, then measure the leads resistance. Next check the coil, cap and rotor button. Check for play in the dizzy too.
Second place I'd check is for vac leaks. Cheers ToranaGuy

I had the same symptoms on my ED, turned out that I had a partially blocked injector.
It was fine on LPG, but had that flat spot on petrol.. replaced the injector and it was all good again. might be something similar for you? |
