Hey guys.

We were basically finished putting an ED motor into my mates 89 NA Fairlane, but we were stuck aon a few things that don't match up.

Firstly the alternator wiring plug is different, we also don't have the EA/NA alternator anymore either.
Can I just cut the plug off my ED wreck and replace the EA one with that? I had to retain the NA throttle body for the 3spd kickdown cable and the TPS plug was different, The wires were all the same colour so I just swapped that over. Is this the same principle?

Secondly the plug for that pink wire on the manifold loom that plugs in to the engine bay loom (which is mounted on the ISC bolts where it plugs in) is missing on the NA engine bay loom. As I've kept my ED manifold loom as it's an ED engine/ED manifold I still have the plug with the pink wire. I remember when it was disconnected on my ED it wouldn't even turn over. Do I just leave this unplugged as it doesn't have the socket?

Third and last of all I've unplugged a tiny plug that looks like a rubber boot that just presses onto a terminal or something and find find where it plugs into. This is on the manifold loom towards the front of the motor I believe.

Any help should put me back on the road haha.

ok well you should be able to just simply cut and solder the alternator plug no probs.

The pink wire i am not to sure and as for the other plug, well it sounds like it is off the oil switch. I dont know if it is in the same spot as on the EF/EL but if it is, then it will be under the injector 1 or 2. It will look like a round thing sticking out of the block and that plug will just "sit" over it. Oh and it is fun

Missed my opportunity to use it though, worked on it tonight got stranded on the pink plug so now I have to spend out 2k and buy a bomb to get me around.

What happened to this forum, no one barely helps anyone anymore....
