just latly my car wont lock with the key (remote) new remote and programmed it, pressed the boot relese 3 times within 5 secs and locks go up and then down but when i push the remote button to make it learn nothing happens
So i pulled out the RED bcm thing today and opened it up there is some corrosion nead where the pins are soldered to the board so i brushed it off with an old tooth brush and checked the relay near the park brake handle and reinstalled And now it wont go the learn mode (locks dont go up and down) but car starts and runs fine and central locking still works with the key in the door Can i just replace the BCM and it will be right to program the remote again and drive away ? or more in depth problem ahead of me ? can i use a different BCM?

If you have opened it up before, why not just resolder the connectors & see how you go?
Other wise, replace it with another red BCM. Cheers ToranaGuy

Yep, you need a red one, and only from and EB11 to ED. I have seen a yellow one in an ED, and am not sure it it will work in an EB.
Then you need to do the whole relearn process for the smartlock side of it, and then the relearn process for the remote central locking component. Cheers BenJ

Yeah?? , i was told its better to repair because they all eventually fail.

If there are plenty of bcm's available in wreckers that are a lot cheaper than repair, it's worth considering just replacing it. You couldn't repair it yourself could you? IE, handy with a soldering iron? Cheers ToranaGuy

There is only one or two screws & a wiring plug that hold it into the car, shouldn't be hard to remove it & slap another one in there. Then do the relearn.
Otherwise it might be worth paying for the repair you were quoted, what sort of warranty period did that have? Cheers ToranaGuy

I suppose i should have asked....maybe i could take it out and get them to re-solder save some labour.
