hey guys

having a smartlock issue and i have having to give the dash a thump every now and then, mainly when the days have been hot tempature wise.

if i was to install a smartlock module would it solve that issue????, and will it stop the smartlock possibly causing other issues later on with the injectors and ignition circuit and whatever else it protects

how hard is it to install the module???

cheers, bear

you can bypass the starter part of the smartlock..
you join the red/blue wires pins 25 and 18 together..
this will alow the engine to crank and the ecu imobiliser part of smartlock will still work...

had the same problem, all i did was pull back the outer plastic on the wires and soldered in a peice between them. fixed the drama straight away and only took the best part of 20 mins to do

will doing this actually allow the car to start?
ie. will the injectors and ignition still receive a signal?

yes the car will still start and run normally as the ecu still receives the signal from the smartlock module, it only bypasses the engine cranking/starter curcuit of the imobiliser (usually the part of the smartlock that gives trouble).. you can even run these 2 wires to a hidden switch and use it as a kill switch to the starter..
