Hi guys. Im new here, did a quick search but couldnt find my answer.
Just bought home a cheapis ED XR6 Manual for use on hillclims/car club etc for my son and I. The car came minus its airbox and the pipe to the throttle body. I suspect a pod filter lived there instead. My question is will a standard ED airbox setup fit the Tickford engine or do I need the XR6 specific one? I also have access to EL and EF ones, will one of these do the job? Thanks in advance. Last edited by surlyjas on Sat Feb 14, 2015 8:24 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

standard ed will fit, same everything besides silly little things like fuel reg, valves in the head and cam/valve springs, exhaust. but standard stuff will easily replace all that aswell

Any EB/ED airbox will suit, there is no "Special" XR6 Airbox. The EF/EL are not suitable for the ED with the Log Manifold. They are set up to run for the BBM. Air enters the bottom of the airbo on the EF/EL and flows up through the airfilter. On the EB/ED it is the opposite, air enters through the top section of the airbox and flows down through the airfilter. The snorkles are the same for the stock ED as well as the XR6. It wasn't till the EL did the XR's get a slightly larger snorkle. |
