righteo so i have some issues with my XR6
put it on the scanner, came up as the oxy sensor was reading low. replaced that and my issues continued. hard to start (needs to crank for 10+ seconds sometimes and have your foot on the throttle) runs rich sometimes breaks down above 3000rpm (not sure if its fuel related or ignition) it has new leads n plugs on it, not sure how old the coil is, just replaced the 02 sensor. could the map sensor be the next thing to change? put it on the scanner again today and nothing came up.... anyone got any ideas what it could be? maybe the intake system needs a good clean?? any help would be apreciated. cheers

no idea man, iv got a new set of injectors sitting here ready to go in, maybe i'll chuck them in, i was thinking the throttlebody might be filthy... it still had a geniune oxy sensor in it, dont know if it was the original one or not though.
how hard is it to check the throttlebody? (i have stuffed my knees so i need to know exactly where it is cause i cant bend them)

Check you have a strong blue spark jumping across a test spark plug. If the ign system checks out okay then it is a fuel issue.
A leaking injector can cause car hard to start or fuel pump on it's way out. Test the fuel pressure on the rail, might be a stuffed regulator? Map sensor hose and fuel reg vacuum hoses still connected? Could also be water in the fuel, when was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Cheers

i got the car 6,000Ks ago, replaced the auto, did the headgasket, changed the plugs, o2 sensor, new leads, new oil/fiter, air filter and thats all iv done and checked.
no idea when the fuel filter was replaced, i was thinking it might be blocked though, i have been running the tank close to dry.... and its got 333,000 on the clock now. haven't even checked to see what brand it has in it...
