I was enquiring about this before Waggin, and was told that all LWB (wagons and utes too) come with the Alloy tailshafts which are the same as the XR6/Tcikford ones.

Not correct. My ex cop EF v8 wagon had a steel tailshaft. It was a 1994 one so perhaps this comment refers to series 2?
Cheers

For the sydney folk, i'm sure XR8Chic had a custom tailshaft made up after that incident on the dyno. The member in question is always willing to recommend good workshops...

$300-400 given to Chiptorque or UniChip I've heard will get you a little box that will get rid of the speed limiter.

However make sure everything else is working first before the so-called driveshaft removes your prized package.

Terrorist Ghia was telling me about a jaycar kit he bought which supposedly removes the speed limiter. He offered it to me but I have another solution planned so maybe shoot him a PM

180km/hr... give or take a few ks

EDIT: my bad, without the limiter - she'd have to be geared for 240 at least?

its on the back of your slip when ya go to the drags ;)

i need a new shaft, cos too much clutch droppin has made unis sloppy,

for ya track racing could you simply remove the speedo cog on the side of the gearbox, then car wouldn know how fast its going..

its a simple job. 1 screw on driver side of manny box.

also xr's may not have max top end (like 250+) cossa lower ratio (3.45 diff) instead of ya stockky 3.08.

I can crack 230km\h on the front straight at eastern creek.

stand on the brakes and get the car to pull up confidently lap after lap with no fade.
