Hey guys
I am borrowing my brothers ef fairmont at the moment and in the morning when i go to take off, it will get to 2000 revs then bog right down untill i give it a boot full and then it comes good and wont do it for the rest of the day Would this be the case of Plugs, Leads or the Fuel filter ? Cheers Matt

Maybe moisture condensing in the fuel tank overnight? Any petrol with ethanol in it (not E85) would get rid of any water in the tank. Or throw up to half a litre of methylated spirits in, then fill the tank to mix it.
The fact that it does it only when cold argues against it being plugs, leads or filter. Unlikely, but not impossible. Had it happen once in reverse: fine when cold, but bogged down and eventually stalled, then started right back up again. Turned out to be rust flakes in the fuel tank accumulating around the strainer into the fuel line. The car had been parked for several months and moisture had settled at the bottom of the tank, rusting it.

Quote: Or could it be that the gearbox is sticking in too high a gear and coming good when it downshifts in response to the open throttle? But i never thought of the gearbox idea, i know it had work down to it a lil while ago to replace the pump seals inside the gear box I might let it warm up and give it a hard rev while in park before i go any where and see if it bogs down, If it revs with out a problem could be gear box issue Well the engine runs perfectly fine, theres no missing or f@rt or black smoke

So it seems its def gearbox related issue, as i can free rev the engine in park no problemo, no hesitation what so ever
But another though has come to mine that the fuel pump has started making a loud buzzing noise, maybe a sign of it dieing Maybe thats causeing it to hesitate Anyways im getting a fuel filter put in tommoro and see how that goes
