I bought a ef2 Tickford 6 yesterday, 196,000k's- $3,400 good nick I was surprised that even in such an old car- you still can tell the difference between it and a stock motor easily, geez it pulls nicely from 3 rev's to redline....not to mention an auto with full tyre tread losing traction in the dry under full throttle...nice
I have one prob I need to sort out, which i have nooooo Idea where to start. The lights on dash and interior lights and headlights flicker at idle and up to 60km/hr- Also does anyone have a brown premium radio surround???

Try replace the reg on the alternator

GOOD ONE MATE, I'LL DO IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!
One other thing, it seems to rev higher on 100k/hr then my ef 1 ghia v8 ( 3.23 diff I think) what diff does this one have?? Its a November 95 build with the red motor and T on the head if thats any help

it should have a 3.45LSD.

so its ok for it to be revving on or near 2,000rpm on 100k's an hr?
I think my 5L revs at 2,000 on 110!!!!

Yes a ghia is setup with lower ratio's for cruising where as the tickfords were set up for some more spirited driving
That's why motor revs more than the ghia at 100km If this is problem you could always drop in a T5 or somethin

so do you mean the tickford 6 in the ef2 has 3.23's or 3.45??
so from what i can work out, its basically an xr6 without the stiff suspension and quad lights?

tickford series 2 come with the 3.45 lsd i think.
go outside sit on the brake and see if there is 2 tyre marks, problem solved. |

my T5 seems to hang around the 2g + at 100k because i took off the emissions control and bumped up the idle speed.. Seems to be a common mod, have you checked it?
