hi, would any one be able to tell me as to why me ef falcon 4.0 would have no spark at all it drove fine one day then the next morning it was dead i have changed the coil pack and the crank angle sensor and nothing has changed the engine cranks over fine but with no spark at all untill the battery gets low and then it wants to fire but wont run if you hold the key on it might fire for a full cycle but will not run also about a week before this happened the car started locking and unlocking its self with the keys in the ignition and about 2 days before this happened the airbag light came on and stayed on, could i have a bad body control module?

is your smartlock light flashing fast? does your interior light come on? if the light doesnt come on check the fuse as that runs the smartlock as well.

yeah mate the smart lock light is flashing as it normally would and the interior light still works

could be a long shot, but give the bcm a little tap when u are cranking (just above your left knee under the dash when sitting in drivers seat) mine plays up sometimes and will just sit there cranking til i tap it

still no go mate but after giving the bcm a wack i did hear a few beeps that i have never heard before while cranking the engine

could be a bcm issue or the smartlock issue with the key barrel. try leaving the key on for about 30 minute i think then try and start it again.

well i left the key on for 30 minutes and it hasnt changed im thinking i might just have to get a mechanic out here to have a look although i do have a bcm out of an el are they interchangeable or are the el ones different i also have an ecu from an el would it be worth swapping either of those

from memory el wiring connectors are in different spots, also with the ecu, els run a distributer where the ef is coil pack so i dont think you can use it. but i could be wrong. and just remembered a mate had the same problem as yours, changed the bcm and all good, but his would cut out while driving then not start.

i have a spare bcm here you can have for the cost of postage. you have to give it a tap to start it on warm days, so i think the solder joins have gone dry.

well i got another bcm and plugged it in everything else seems to work fine but still no spark
|

i think u have to leave the key on for half hour again so the key and bcm recognise each other

could be a faulty ecu. have u changed that yet?
