I am goint to assume you would rather do this the easy way, as opposed to the difficult and pointless way.
Just swap the EB accessories, dizzy, and intake manifold onto the EF long motor, forget swapping looms and using EDIS, its a biiig job.

If you're just worried about the main seal, why not replace it?

head gaskets?
Only if the head is warped, get it checked at the same time, and then it wont go. Ef engines aren't any better in that respect unfortunately. |

put twin thermo fans in it and you will reduce the risk of it overheating thus warping the head and blowing gaskets.
not perfect but better than the clutch fan |

theres a few things to do in the transfer of putting ef engine into eb.
1st question u gotta ask is does the eb have smartlock? if not then its a b**ch of a job i think. Other than that u just gotta get an ef/el ecu. I believe there is some slight changes u gotta do like shave the sump or something like that and yeh, not the hardest job. have a look here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=31883 |

I put a EL block into my EB2.
My head was completely stuffed on my eb2. I think a replacement was like $500 and my block was warped. I pretty much needed to rebuild my engine. So I bought a full EL motor for $800 had done 100,000 km Took all the el manifolds off. And pullies and crap. Swapped the dizzy Bought an ED front timing over ( so it doesn’t leak the ea and eb ones leak. ) Installed the front over. Replaces all the heater hoses belts etc Used me exciting manifolds EB2 manufolds Plumbed it up timed etc it worked Put in my car and has been there ever since. Ive still got the EL intake manufold and exhaust manufold sitting some where Anyone know if EL injectors will work in a EB? |

If your only using the the Block and head you can install a EF EL or AU block. As lonf as use your old manifolds. This is probably the cheapest way to get a good engine and head. It also provides a little bit more power . depending on the gear box and differ you have, my old mans EA with a EL block is has heaps more torque, that’s with the EA 3 speed. My EB 2 has abit more torque and goes harder than the stock EB2 block. You would also want to put a ED timing cover on the the engine as well so u don’t get any oil leaks. As for a using all the EF stuff, computer wiring etc etc it would cost a pretty penny in $$$ and time. Your EB would want to have a really good body, to even consider it. If you look in the Trading post you can pick a good EF’s and EL’s for about $5k It would be pretty expensive and time consuming to put a EF motor in your EB2 the transmission will bolt up. But im not sure about the computer side of things. I have EL block and head, EB2 intake and exhaust manifolds EB2 computer. And EF transmission. |
