The rattling from the front of the engine sounds like it could be a loose timing chain. it is common for the timing chain guides to break.

The whirr sound seems like diff or bearings... But if it ain't coming from behind you it may be the transmission, i would say diff tho?

I would defiantly say it is a loose timing chain, I've had the exact noise on mine before. I would get it looked at ASAP, mine had jumped a tooth when it was loose. Its not to hard to adjust, but it does need to be done correctly..
Good luck.
