hi all replacing the timing chain cover on my ef2 mont as i had a crack on the original i got a second hand one from a wreckers all looked the same but went to put the tensioner in and it wont go all the way threw like it should discovred the new cover does not have a thread all the way threw like the original one the part code on the new one is 95da on the original it is 9(then a blank square)a could the new one be a EL cover? also apart from the tensioner being diffrent what else is different can i make it work?

Seeing as you can put the tensioner on an EA-ED engine, I don't see why there would be an issue bolting the tensioner up.
Seems a bit strange to me. An EL cover also has the mounts for the crank sensor so should work fine. Cheers BenJ

Cheers BenJ i thought so too but the new cover i got doesnt have thread all the way on the original one it does which is what i causing my problem 95da i think is ef2 isnt it? or is it el im thinking bout using a male dye to fix the problem |
