hi all
ok so i did a search through like 10 pages to get an answer and i got it , i have a prob with my BEM ( i did the whole tap on the left of your dash thing and it starts)
so a couple questions
1 can the BEM be easy to get at to replace /repair
2 would a dodgy ISC cause this prob ( mine isnt the best i cleaned out about a month ago )
3 what would cause the BEM to be faulty ( i read about dry solder joints that i can easily fix ) but why faulty if not dry joints
thanks Damo

Purchase a second hand one, they're about 30 - 40 bux from most do-it-urself wreckers.

I replaced one for a guy the other day off the FFAU site as he was having the same problem, He contacted his local auto elec, and was quoted about $450 and will take 3 - 4 hours to do. (makin money) it takes about 15mins to install, and 30-45 mins to program (inc. remotes).

Idealy if you have a GLi, get a Futura one (blue) it'll give you dome light fade and variable wipers can be added.
Im not particulally sure, but it MAY have a stronger interior light regulator also as the GLi's don't usually have more than one interior light. But I could be wrong!

please note: EF's and EL's are NOT Interchangable.

I hope this helps

BEM (Body Electronics Module) is the official factory term, BCM is used in the Gregorys (and possibly others) manual.

No. Low-Series = GLI. Mid-Series = Futura, XR, Police, Taxi. High-Series = Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane, LTD.
