Yep that is an EF module.

So when you gave the dash a hard whack, you couldn't start the car? If this is the case, sounds like you have dry joints in your BEM

Yeah I gave the dash a hard whack and it wont start now.

Should i keep whacking it and trying to start it or would that just cause more damage?

Thanks for the help, I will visit the wreckers tomorrow.

If your battery is too low, then no matter what you do it wont start. But when you are trying to start it and sounds like it is cranking strong, then while trying to start the car, hit the dash above where you left knee is while trying to start the car and if it does start, then yeah stuffed BEM. If you do get another one, you have to relearn the keys and also make sure that you get an EF one and the same colour

Clicking noise instead of engine turning over would be a dead battery thats the noise mine does wen its, dead

 Read this a few time over and over again. The BEM would only have fixed your starting issue and we have established that this was due to a flat battery :|

You will prob need a new climate control

to relearn the keys in your car you need to jump in and shut the door. put the key in the ignition and turn to acc, within 5 seconds push the rear demist button 3 times.
it can be a bit tricky to time it right but give it a few goes. when you get it right the door locks will lock then unlock. when they do this push the door button on your remote. the doors should again lock and unlock. turn the ignition back off and the doors will once again lock and unlock to show the sequence is complete..

This is the procedure to relearn the REMOTES only and not the keys. To relearn the keys, leave the keys in the on position for 60 mins. The smartlock light will turn off when the key is successfully relearnt

As i have the same problem and its driving me crazy trying to found the solution Expescially now that summer is here.. im waiting between 15mins to 45mins driving in this heat waitting for the climate control module to decide to power up so i can turn the air con on..

P.s i have replaced the Climate Control & the BCM and still no luck..
Is there anyone out that has or had this problem that know's how to fix it....

same here. i have 4 modules. none of them will power up. am going to test for power at the red/black wire on the bottom connector to make sure its getting power. fuse is good so if nothing on that connector it must be a broken wire?

HI
i have the same issue as u guys. on when it wants off when you start. there was another forum that said there was a relay under the bonnet that was the cause(sticking) i'm hoping that's the case as it might be an easier fix than replacing modules. was a ford but not NF/NL
