Hi,

Yesterday I had extractors, cat and exhaust fitted to my EF sedan, and today I tried using cruise control and it is no longer working.

Last I tested it would have been 1 week ago and it was working fine.

When clicking the On button on the steering wheel, the "Cruise" lights up on the instrument cluster, but then when clicking the Set + or Set - buttons it just doesn't activate.

Is this more likely to be a coincidence or is there some component related to cruise that the exhaust shop could've buggered up while doing the install?

Have the accidently unplugged the module in the engine bay?

Located right near your break booster under the panel? black box looking thing, if its unplugged it will be easy as piss to spot and just as easy to plug in again.

Also check to see if your brake lights are working. If they are not working, cruise will not work and will need to replace the brake switch

Or check if they're on, if you've replaced the globes recently, re-check they're the right globes.

Also check the pressure switch on the brake master cylinder is correctly functioning.

The clutch and brake master cyl switches are normally closed - you can pull the plugs and use pieces of wire on both to short the plug to test - both need to be shorted at the same time.
I'd suspect the mast cyl plug is disconnected.

Thanks heaps for the replies, I had another look under the bonnet and it did turn out to be the cruise switch connector was unplugged from the brake master cylinder.

Plugged him back in and all good! Cheers
