Remove the trigger plug off the starter solenoid and put a wire with a terminal on it in its place and jump it straight off the battery.
If it starts first go then its something in the control cct. If it is something in the starter motor it should not turn over when its hot wired.
I think I have a spare starter motor here.
Could be a fault with the BCM. I had the issue in my dark blue EB and a mate had it too in his EB Ghia. Both exactlythe same symptoms.

Well i am out of light, so work will sall til friday when it is my turn around between days and nights. I have the battery on charge and am hoping that will solve it. It appears using the battery to jump Hans LTD may have hurt it.

Will wait a couple of hours and see.

I cant seem to get at the starter Matt, so will leave it til friday. I have to swap the acc pedal over yet, but cant do that til i turn the car around, and i cant start it so that is on hold as well. Heres hoping she is just a flat battery.

Brett

Well that sucks.
There is a battery here in the wreck dude. Dunno how good it is but it was starting the car before I killed it.

Battery is fine, Troy, where exactly does the red wire plug onto. I have found a red wire with a black plug on the end, It seems to be excess and moe than likely goes to the starter.

I cant see to see anywhere that it would plug into though.

brett are you aware that you also need to change the rocker cover, as the accelerator cable bolts to it..
unless you make a bracket up...????

Yep, sorted. She starts, doesn't want to idle real well, and yes i know about the rocker cover. I was going to just use the attachment from the EF cover so i have a bracket.

Success, and i am a moron for not plugging the starter in. Will have it sorted by Friday all things being equal.

I had it running using my had but it seemed to be firing on 5 cylinders, so will need to check the leads and ensure thaat they are on and in the correct order. I will say the BBM gives better access to the dizzy, but only just, or and i seem to have developed a vacuum leak, although i know where it is coming from, the tree at the back of the manifold, just need to plug it.

Thanks for the help guys.

Brett

Lastly, i read in Benj's EL conversionthat it ran rough and wouldn't rev due to fuel lines being on back the front, got a feeling that may be my issue. Too dark to check now so will put it off til friday.

Thanks for the assist guys

Brett

No mate, that won't be it. When the fuel lines were reversed it wouldn't fire at all.

Well done on getting to this stage.

Cheers

Cheers

Yep the firing order is correct. I just checked it in the manual.
Actually if you have a vacuum leak off the tree is the map sensor connected?
