Are there any gains to be made on an EL if you run the EF dual runner intake piping? And what model air filter lid is the best? I tried the search but couldn't find much.
Thanks. |

The EF flat duel style one is suppose to have the best flow but.... good luck trying to find evidence. In regards to gains, what you have to do with an intake is to make sure the air is flowing fast and even without restrictions ect, this will sharpen throttle response with a few KW to gain. At supercheap and auto barn you can buy an attachment which opens the hole in the air box lid which is were the main restriction is. Thou i don't think its been proven that these restrictions are a bad thing just remember ford may have done it on purpose.
Just go for a BA intake with XR6T snorkel, the BA setup is smooth and simple, but the corrugated part could be improved with some smooth pipe work. Regards.

Yes go with the EF intake, Jim Mock reckons the EF intake improves low down tourqe. My advice is to drill a 90mm hole through the bottom of the air box, through the metal underneath ( watch out if its ABS there will be pipes directly underneath) and fit a piece of 90mm storm water pipe between the two surfaces to draw fresh air from behind the bumper, made a huge difference on my EF.
