Hey,

Just wondering what's involved in getting an EF-EL Alternator to bolt onto an AU motor?

Cheers.

it would work if you used ef/el internals with the AU casing.
i've done the exact opposite - fitted au internals to an ef alternator, and had to machine up a 6mm spacer to slide between the through bolt and the mounting point because the stator is slightly wider (6mm).
that's probably not useful to you though, but it can be done.

Well the problem is that I have all EF Gear, and an AU motor without accessories.

I've never looked to see if you can remove the actual mounting bracket and swap it with the other.

Hey Fellas, i've just done this exact conversion, and i purchased an alternator and relevant bolts, and bracket off an au, as the mounting bracket off the ef/el will NOT fit on the au block.

The wiring was the same, just a "plug and play" scenearo(with the engine swap, that is).
Hope this is a help..... :)

I can probably handle that, I'll aim for $80 hehe.

That's that settled then - cheers guys.
Now I just have to do some research on the bellhousings and T5's.
