Thinking about puttin a BBM in my EBII.
If i was to get one, would the ef/el airbox drop into the eb? What parts will i need from start to fin and any idea on what this stuff costs? any ideas what ftg would charge for bbm + airbox assembly provided the airbox stuff will fit? |

I do believe the air box drops in, good call if your using a BBM

i think youll find that you need an EF/EL upper radiator hose too
you'll need EF/EL accelerator cable and possibly have to modify your rocker cover to suit the bracket for the acc cable Then you have to figure out how to switch the BBM at the desired RPM (modified shiftlight?)

OK. I've done all this crap.
Get: EF/EL Airbox EL ECU (ideally, since you have a 93 EBII) BBM EF/EL top thermostat housing and radiator hose EF/EL Accelerator Cable You don't have to change the dipstick or heater hose, but its a good idea to. Cheers. |

It really depends on what deals are floating around I guess. Probably anywhere from $150 to $400
Oh and you also have to put your EB loom onto the BBM. Involves lengthening a few wires, nothing too serious. I'd get the thermostat housing, hose and accel cable all new. So you should be able to find out what they cost easily. |

If you change the top hose you'll need to change the radiator also! The hose is a differant diameter than EB.

I didn't encounter that problem. I think you may be thinking of the bottom hose.

Maybe, I thought they were both differant.

LOL - I just sold all of that + cruise for $100!!
hahaha Stay with your EB water pump, and EB radiator. Fan as well if you like. You need : The BBM Manifold, duct, airbox, solenoid, fuel rail, and solid water lines (that run around the engine, and from the thermostat cover). You also need as you noted the EL thermostat cover and top hose. That all bolts in. Then get the Silicon Chip/Jaycar RPM Triggered switch and set it up to trigger the solenoid at about 3250rpm. Easy! Honestly I think you will be better off with an EL ECU than an rpm switch.
I used to have ED XR6 ECU with the BBM, and the maps were terrible for it. The EL ECU is much better. |

Don't bother with the BBM conversion unless your going to install an EL ecu or have some form of aftermarket engine management to adjust the timing maps....
