have just had a read of my genuine ford ed manual for the testing of the pump...
It says the special "flow and pressure tester" they made for the job which has a valve on it to increase pressure, connects in series in the pressure line... It says you cannot turn the valve off for more than 5 seconds at a time (pressures must reach breaking point) and says if pressures exceed 1550psi then you need to clean or replace the flow control valve... So if I said the pump is capable of producing 1550psi does that help? See the tests listed below... Attachment: Cheers, Tim

This is for the EA-ED (that's the manual I have...)
EF/EL runs the same pump with a different pulley... Commodores also run this Saginaw pump... Cheers, Tim

I would be going for a high pressure hydraulic hose, enzed can make them in high pressure braided to suit, without the stupid swivel o ring joint the ef/au have...

All they needed was the normal taper seat hydraulic fitting and they would have never leaked... Instead of fitting an O ring seal to a 1500psi system... For some reason Ford decided that they need to have the pipe swivel once it was tight... Even my ED one has never given any trouble... But the EF onward style was rather poor... Cheers, Tim
