Im chasing a ef or el even au non vct cam for my eb. Im not too sure about the au one would it fit?

Yea il stick to the e seires then. Its my family car so i dont want to be pouring s**t of cash into it just playing to see i i can get a few more killer wasps lol

I have a EF/EL XR6 Tickford cam which I got with my 94DT head that won't be used. The cam has a bit of oxide (aka surface rust) on the lobes etc, which was there since I got it but i've always kept it in a well oiled environment. It will need a chemical bath to bring it back but other than that it's perfect.

You may need to put a higher rated fuel reg and an ECU to suit...but I am not 100% if that is required for the earlier E-series.

Yea i was going to do a few other mods hi flow cat,extractors,j3 chip,cold air intake,2-3/4 exhaust plus the cam. Should open it up a lil more i could imagine

you wouldnt bother with the higher fuel reg as these cars run rich anyway,xr cam doesnt give a whole lot of power imo, i thought about running one a few weeks ago if i could get one cheap enough but i dont really think its worth it when an xr6 only gained stuff all power considering it had a different ecu, different fuel reg, different cam, bigger valves, and a sports exhaust, wasnt it only 15-20 kw with all these mods? so the cam maybe only contributes to 5 kw lol

Better off with a 977b, if auto 114lsa . I had 114 lsa in a manual and it worked well .

Obviously Upgraded valvesprings aswell? Also what do 4.0ls run like if you cut the cat completly out of the exhaust system an replace it with straight pipe?

Xr spec springs will be good , I never upgraded mine , i did when I installed a 1521a though, still running the stiffer springs with my xr cam

Did you get a better exhaust note? I put a pipe thru my cat on my old vn made it louder an had a really crisp note but copped black s**t all over the back of it coz i didnt run dumpies

i gutted my vp paddock basher cat all it did was sound s**t and the engine light came on,
I had a high flow cat when i put my extractors on and then it colapsed, gutted it until i can afford a new one, in my opinion it goes s**t with it gutted, causes some weird s**t going on inside because its just an empty space, cant remember the word troyman used lol, if you ran a straight pipe it would be a different story, ilegal tho
