Madd ive got a EF Futura and a cheap performance mod is a cat back 2'5" Mandrel bent exhaust off ebay is a great start. Also if it is on petrol slap a pod filter on it. And if you want to do more work think about putting a cam in should cost about 250 and your car should go alrite. But make sure you invest in a nice tight LSD diff for drifting and wat not.

Catbacks are around $350 fitted.
Extractors around $400 (I Think) fitted.
Commo cats are 2.5" arent they?

So let me get this straight. For $1500 im getting Comp Pacies to a 2.5 Catback lukey?

This is all new to me... so forgive me if i look like a total idiot but I am trying to learn. My pacies go through to the cat, then i've got a 2.5 system through to my Lukey Muffler? Is that right? :P

My mate who just recently got some work done there got a 2.5 Catback lukey for $300. Maybe i got the details a lil mixed, but $300 compared to $1500... thats a HUGE differance. Given that he didn't get extractors and a high flow cat but thats a big differance. Is there anything in the system im missing? It was just an over the phone quote so im not sure what exactly we were talking about. What would you expect for $1500 guys?

I've been quoted 1500 for my BA for a full exhaust before.

Ended up paying $550 (at 'mates rates') for a new lukey 2 muffler system that just came on the market, fitted. Anyone want to tell me if I was ripped?

~$1000 sounds about right for a system for an e-series.

~350 for catback (average seems around 300ish here)
~250 for good cat
~400 for extractors.

Try get a rundown of costs from each part from the shop maybe?

Firstly, don't touch the turbo mufflers- they're s**t house, they are not a straight through design, therefore are still restrictive, there pretty much a higher flowing version of a factory muffler as the pipe still squiggles/zig-zags inside the muffler (i.e. still very restrictive).
Rather get a Lukey Ultraflow muffler and hotdog or resinator - you'll get better flow and probably about the same volume.

Secondly, the price is a joke.
I payed $640.00 for Pacey comps and high flow cat converter installed (a proper Lukey high flow cat is a good cat and are more expensive - up to $400). The Paceys were $440 and the cat $200, isntallation free.
My exhaust I only payed around $250ish for a LUkey mandrell bent with ultraflow muffler and hot dog.
So that's around $900 - $600 cheaper than your quote, for essentially the same stuff.

You wern't necesarily, but someone was, i.e. you mate might of been riped off, but he didn't mark it up much when selling to you or something. Lukeys products don't have a higher price when new (we buy s**t loads of them at work).

I ended up getting a the following:

2.5 Berkly Cat Back
Comp Pacies
Hi-Flow Cat

Total: $1160 Fitted

I havn't asked if its mandrel bent yet but I would assume so. Also does the Comp Pacies come with any ceramic heat coating?

Yeah the VN commodore cat converters and good for exhaust mods. They had a large pipe in/out and flowed very well.

I've got no idea why anyone would make up the piping themselves. It's cheaper to buy an off shelf Lukey or RedBack system that is already made and straight bolt it than for an exhaust shop to sit and bend up one themselves. not to mention the mandrel one obviously flows better.
