Ok heres a good question to boggle the greatest of minds,,, again.
My dad doesnt take much good care of his EF II fairmont, which is only on 110xxx odd kilometres and is sick as a dying dieased cow. Car is on petrol. Problem 1: Hissing sound from climate control. tried "bushmechanic" from fordaustraliaforums solution to vacuum leak from climate control fix, couldnt really understand what he meant so couldnt really fix it. How do i fix the constant vacuum sound coming from the climate control bottom slot vent? Problem 2: Car gutless on acceleration. When I press the pedal on acceleration, car feels like its breathless and stays low on revs and doesnt pick up and go (even though im flooring the pedal). It stays low for a few seconds and then picks up reaaaally slowly, no powerful take off or spin. could it be fuel? I changed spark plugs and leads, did vacuum test, no vacuum leaks when i put a tee piece between the MAP sensor and its bbm line. could be fuel related? Problem 3: Fuel consumption too high. Problem 4: Car slips on auto, i started a thread last week, was recommended to get it checked by an transmission specialist. I think all problems are related. I wanna fix problem 1 and 2, and i guess 3 will be fixed by itself. And 4 will do later. |

Faulty coolant temp sensor? That caused my EF fairmont to be sluggish and use too much fuel
