Hey guys,
Got a EF Fairmont 6 cylinder, starts awhile ago, when I got water in my fuel tank, put 2 litres of metho down the tank, and it worked, car started, put fresh fuel in it, drove it for around 5,000 kms no worries, then a couple of weeks ago the fuel pump died, replaced with new pump and filter, I'm guessing it may of died because the water f**k it? Anyways, went and picked the car up and noticed it took around 10 seconds of cranking before it started, then it ran really rough and blew alot of black smoke for around 15 seconds, then when it cleared it self up it ran fine. Put some fuel additive in it that preserved fuel and removed water from the tank. After that it started better didn't run as rough, after I used the fuel in the tank and topped it up with fresh fuel it started all over again, so I can safely say its not the pump or filter? I was thinking maybe injectors, or fuel reg? It's like its overfuelling on start up. Sorry for the essay its really f**k annoying me right now haha. Any one got any suggestions? Thanks Brad |

Coolant temp sensor would control the choke/fuel on startup, when warm the oxy sensor takes over. Try this, also do the usual checks plugs, leads, filters etc for piece of mind.
