2.5" cat back with 1 muffler, not gonna be stupidly loud but will sound pretty throaty.

I went straight pipes with pacemaker extractors, 100 cell cat an 2.5 mandrel bent exhaust. was too loud an raspy.
Went one muffller, too soft, Went a smaller muffler, not loud enough. Went 2 resonators, too soft. Went one small bullet/hot dog resonator an now is the right balance. I will soon go to small muffler an ending it at the diff too see what it sounds like, though got other things to focus on at the moment. Also your tip makes a difference too. Double folded edges on the tips can muffle noise |

If you got extractors and a high flow cat, don't go with a single muffler exhaust. They sound drony. I got 4499's, 100cpsi cat, and a redback exhaust system with a centre muffler and a hotdog in the rear. Not quiet, not drony, and it sounded nice too.
However before extractors and cat, I had a straight pipe in the rear of my 2.5" exhaust with a centre muffler and it didn't sound too bad either. |
