Hey guys

I recently got a EF Falcon Sedan and im having a bit of trouble with it starting, when i got it, it wouldnt turnover so i tapped the starter motor with a metal rod and it worked perfectly after that for 2 weeks, until yesterday it wouldt turn over, so i tapped it, but this time it didnt fix it, but went back this morning and it started fine but now it wont start !! Confusing i know !!

just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do ??

try bumping the BCM when you go and start it, it's behind the kick pannel infornt of your left knee on drivers side, if it starts when you bump it you need to get all the joints in the BMC re solderd or a new bcm

Check the current draw on the battery when starting, see how much the starters pulling.
What condition is the battery In, a weak battery can make a sad starter useless.

That actually just sounds like your starter is buggered. A couple of years ago mine did the same thing - ie. sometimes would start no sweat other times wouldn't - and when it wouldn't then a tap with metal bar made it come good - then tapping with the bar sometimes worked and other times didn't - and even when the bar didn't work, sometime later it would often start normally even without needing that bump.

Was really &^%king annoying and I sort of convinced myself there wasn't the right kind of symptoms to point DEFINITELY at the starter. Whinging about it to a mate provoked a very firm "you silly bugger - OBVIOUSLY it IS the starter - just change the %$#ken thing!" - which I did and it hasn't missed a beat since.

No guarantee of course that it's your problem but that's my experience. Having it work even sometimes with a bump is a pretty fair tipoff tho...

Might just go buy a new starter motor I think !!
