Car stalled last night but I was able to start it and get home. Check ABS light was on. There's a noise with the ignition off. It's like a loud hum. Seems to be coming from front left. ABS?
I'm wondering if this will be worth fixing. AC doesn't hold a regas, leak around rear window that dumps a lot of water in passenger footwell in heavy rain, oil leaks worse and losing some water. Currently in a situation with my mother in hospital and I can't muck around. Thoughts? |

disconnect battery and see if hum stops if electrical
or it may be a leak from vacuum tank or the purge valve under the gaurd cost of repairs needed for rego and anything else that may come up makes likely to cost more than its worth would be looking around myself but that's still a personal thing |

It stops with battery off. I had to disconnect the battery to stop it from going flat. The noise is similar to the rear fuel pump. I figure ABS might function to some extent with engine off for safety and hence the hum with just battery connected. I have no clue what components are involved but figure something must pressurise and control the pulses. |
