hi guys have an issue with an ef falcon that wont start i have pin pointed two problem areas it could be but not sure wether its ignition switch or smartlock. if its smartlock can it be replaced with a second hand part also i have a problem with the drivers side door it locks only with the kjey and not the remote the actuator works but doesnt lock. any suggestions

The smartlock and BEM modules can play up. Try giving the area on the dash near where your left knee sits a decent thump - sometimes it works!

Yeah im with private9, it could well be the BEM, its pretty common for them to just 'go'.

Like he said, give the lower left hand side of the dash where your left knee would sit on the drivers side a couple of wacks lol, a few people on here have found it works

are u saying that it wont crank over or does it crank over but not start

if its not cranking over check :

check all fuses especially the ctr lp (BEM needs power)
check starter relay
check inhibitor switch
check starter motor

if all is ok and still not starting try turning key to start and giving the dash a hard thump above your left knee
