Hi guys thanks for all the suggestions. As I had the major s**t with the car after spending days on it to no good effect I decided I would go ahead and swap the car for an old dirt bike and laptop as I couldn't get the bloody thing running right.
In a last ditch effort before the guy came to pick the car up tomorrow morning I decided I would pop the rocker cover and just check the timing. 15 mins later the car is running sweet. The bloody thing had jumped 2 links or had been set wrong from when motor was rebuilt. I popped cam gear off, moved it back to where it should be, tightened the chain tensioner and it runs sweet as apples. I cannot f**k believe it, I have spent days changing almost every bit of the car about 5 times each and it all came down to timing not set correctly I thought about it doing it days ago and again when it was suggested eariler in the post but thought nope runs to sweet at low revs and dont have problems consistant with junping a tooth (i thought) and the fact that ef's don't have adjustable timing so was doubting anything would set wrong in that department. Wow I wish I just went with gut feeling days ago and checked this then!! Thanks heaps for all your help guys! I can't believe after all that it was something as simple as a 15 min job pulling cover off and adjusting the timing. I am amazing that the ecu managed to run her so well at low rpm with it being out 2 teeth on the cam chain. Now I am just wondering if it jumped them or was just set incorrectly when engine was rebuilt. Either way will be good to let the bloke I bought it off know its all good (he was quite about the revs problem and didn't mention anything/ take it past 3500 in test drive) and that I now have a nice running ef manual with rego for $500 3rd manual ef/ el I got ATM sold my other ef manual 2 weeks ago so nice to have another ef manual join the el's haha

Haha yeah we're spot on man. I shoulda just checked to start with but from symptoms of the car and what others were saying I didn't think would be possible for car to run so well until 3500 or so being two teeth out!

Hi guys just took the car for a drive. Stopped at the shops and bloody thing wouldn't start! Out want on the front and over thermostat sensor with no luck. Checked all fuses and the starter motor replay and all good.
The car will not even crank! I replaced the Starter motor thinking that might be the problem with no luck, then changed the ecu back to the manual one thinkimg car Might think its not in neutral, no luck. I then replaced the crank angle sensor with no luck.. Slapped the s**t out of the dash when trying to start (didn't have to ever before) but this didn't work either! Really lost as to what it could be this time..

Should have told you sorry but yeah all dash lights are working and don't think it's smart lock as the smart lock light isn't flashing or staying on when you attempt to turn it over. I was able to get it a away from the shops by roll staring it

is there a starter relay on the efs?

Do you still have the auto ECU in? Check your neutral switch.

Yeah I swapped the horn and the starter relays to see if it was the starter relay but that is fine. I was thinking it might be that but yeah I swapped the ecu back with the manual one just to check

^^^ Certainly sounds like it - injector enable must still be going to the ECU ?? if it can be roll started.
