Hi guys,
Can anyone give me a run down on how to adjust my handbrake on my 95 EF Fairmont. It comes all the way up and only just grabs. I've just replaced front rotors, pads ands bearing and am doing the rear's on my next day off. It was pretty ordinary before I did the brakes as well. Danny - Gold Coast |

you will need to replace the hand brake shoes in the behind the rear discs..

Just adjust the shoe size and it will be fine again. Adjust the shoe size so that you can still slide the disc onto the axel spigot easily, and you may still have to adjust the length of the cable

Theres an adjustment on the diff, or on the base of the actual handbrake lever.

The shoe adjusters L & R side are LH thread from memory - give the shoe a rough up with some emery paper as well (wouldn't hurt), probably use 180 - 320 grade. Use a dustmask when you do this too.
